Oh yum! So nice and fresh looking! I wonder if my father could be convinced to like Indian food…but you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks.
Indian food is a real favorite of mine, and something I have missed somewhat moving to the US - just seems like there is very few really good Indian restaurants here - I would love for you to suggest some!
In the end, I broke down and bought a very authentic Indian food book, and have never looked back - Indian food at home is the way to go, and on the plus side - you really get to bolster your spice and herb collection!
Matt- I would say if you love to cook Indian Food at home, then just stick with that. We love India Bistro on Roosevelt and 65th but that is because we love the people who work there. I have yet to make anything as good as they do though:)
It seems like Molly’s new book is inspiring the blogosphere far and wide — I am making her berry pound cake this weekend. I like the blog redesign, by the way.

This recipe looks delicious, but I’m a little confused…The ingredients call for 1/4 cup coconut oil…The instructions mention olive oil. Which is the best choice? And is 1/4 cup really necessary? Could I reduce this? Thanks!
Fixed! And, 1/4 of a cup of oil IS necessary. You can certainly reduce the fat in this recipe, but I can’t guarantee it will be as good. Because this recipe is vegetarian, there is no animal fat to flavor the dish. The coconut oil is the only source of fat. I use coconut oil because I think it is healthier and more tasty that olive oil in some recipes. But, it is your choice. Try and reduce it and let me know what you think!
