ok. it seems as if i am averaging a once a month post, which in my mind is unacceptable. my last post was 28 days ago. shame on me.

i can’t guarantee you it is gonna get better, either. i am not coming back to this blog with a vengeance, ready to post thrice-weekly as i once was committed to myself. i actually don’t even know if i want to write recipes anymore. maybe that will make you less interested.

hell, i don’t blame you.

the past couple of months have been tough. i am going through a bit of a rough patch personally, and as you know, nobody likes to cook for just one. certainly not me. but, as you see. i am not cooking for just one. more like thirty.

so my time is taken up with my monday-through-friday-9-5 cooking job, lots of trash television, a new love of campari, an old love of bubbly, and lots of mid-evening naps. even as i write, this sounds pathetic.

but, there ARE a few good things. more than a few.  in fact, there is absolutely no need for me to feel sorry for myself. bare with me. if you can stand the continual rants about my exhaustion, how i never cook a thing anymore without getting paid for it, and that i am happier than i have ever been.

do y’all still like me?

Passion is all I ask and when you don’t have it for a blog - you don’t have it - write when the spirit moves you - Sounds like the passion is there for a different purpose and that’s fantastic.

I’m with Maggie - enjoy reading about what you’re up to more than anything - and based on the pictures it looks like you’re up to some interesting stuff! Love the tattoo, too…way too chicken to get one myself, but love seeing creativity on others!

Campari? Did you say Campari? Campari and Prosecco are AWESOME together!!! I hope you are finding time to make some wonderful mixed drinks for yourself. :)

So I have to admit, when I read the “cooking, trash TV, Campari, bubbly and naps” part,” I thought, oh, that sounds wonderful! But then you said “pathetic,” and I thought, oh, okay, right, pathetic. I can work with that. Mostly it sounds wonderful, though.

I always love reading your site, independent of the presence of recipes and got-it-togetherness. Anyway, this sounds like the kind of transition from which people emerge strong and happy. Good luck!

Sounds exciting, if a little stressful. I tip my hat to you–I could never deal with the pressure of a kitchen like that. I hope you get to relax at least a little bit!
